New Gods: NeZha Reborn - Trailer 2 (China, 2020)

NeZha is all grown up in this 2020 animation from the same studio who brought you White Snake

Hot on the heels of their 2019 animation hit "White Snake", LIght Chaser Animation studios returns with another modern take on a classic Chinese folktale. This time they're taking on the lore of NeZha - the demon child!

Not to be confused with 2019's Box Office smash hit NeZha Birth of the Demon Child from Coldroom Animation studios, which was more of a traditional retelling of the classic story, this movie thrusts NeZha into a high-tech future where he is a motorbike riding rebellious teenager!

Set to release before the end of 2020, this is the second trailer for this movie - the first, below, was a 3 minute teaser with no dialogue courtesy of the Annecy 2020 Animation Festival. But that just wet our lips for the new trailer where we get to know more about what this story will be about.

Don't be confused by the similar thumbnails, they are definitely different videos!

While we have your attention, don't forget Coldroom animation has the exciting follow up to NeZha still set for release in 2020 with Jiang Ziya. Originally set for release during Chinese New Year until COVID shut down all cinemas, Jiang Ziya doesn't have an updated release date yet, but we are confident we will see it this year. Jiang Ziya is the second in their Fengshen Animation trilogy of movies, with the third movie set to be based on The Monkey King. Check out the trailer for Jiang Ziya below

As part of their promotional campaign for the lead up to its original Chinese New Year release, Coldroom released this very funny short clip featuring Jiang Ziya and the cheeky NeZha! Check it out
