KIM serves as a professor of film studies at a rural college, away from his family. In his position as educator, KIM finds himself torn between artistic ideals of the film and the realities of life which his student's must encounter daily. It is in this setting that he struggles to discover the nature of his identity. A middle school science teacher, Young-hee, although a long-time lover of KIM's is not confident in their future relationship. She asks KIM to accompany her to her childhood hometown. During the trip, the two begin to realize that each belongs to different realities from the other. Young-hee begins to desire a relationship of a different sort with him. However, KIM's ambition is to redeem his own artistic value blurred between film fantasy and reality.

Remember You (2016)

This is a story about seven female prisoners each with different backgrounds, living within the one prison. At the beginning of the story, a new inmate Ding Qing Er arrives with tears streaming down her face, but told that it's too late to cry. The story continues to slowly reveal the lives of the female prisoners, and each of their struggles to have ended up where they are today. There's the mother who's husband keeps giving false promises of taking her and her child to America; the prostitute who was raped; the lesbian who was given up and betrayed by the Red Army; among others, and there's also Qing Er, who is in jail for theft after stealing costly medicine from the hospital for her dying husband. Through the lead of each other and also the kind hearted guards, they learn to form an unbreakable bond, and a way of dignity.

Penitentiary Angel (1995)

Jeongeun works as a technical administrator at a company with severe discrimination against women. Not only she is waiting to be assigned, but also she is dispatched to work with a subcontractor. Despite the blatant pressure to resign, Jeongeun plans to hold out and return to the head office. However, the conditions working for the subcontractor, working on large transmission towers, are also challenging. No matter how tough Jeongeun is, it is not easy to overcome dual discrimination. She has confronted discrimination with assertive attitude, but she could not easily adapt to the new subcontractor environment. The reason she goes to work drunk or claims to be ‘dispatched from the head office’ and not a subcontractor worker is because she wants to protect her vested rights as a ‘prime contractor.’ However, she changes as she learns the work out of pride and establishes human bonds with her coworkers. Then those who considered Jeongeun as an annoyance start accepting her.

I Don’t Fire Myself (2021)

A tragic accident lead to Kaori's blindness, but she clings to life and the smaller pleasures it can still afford her. She meets Rui and begins to talk to him. Stuck in a small town, aspiring rocker Dal Ho makes a living reluctantly playing trot at local clubs. When small-time recording company head Jang offers Dal Ho a contract, he eagerly grabs the opportunity, believing that his time has finally come. After he signs, however, Dal Ho discovers that he won't be rocking after all. Instead, he will be singing trot. Unable to back out of his contract, Dal Ho takes to the stage behind a mask to hide his embarrassment, and ends up an overnight sensation. The wannabe rocker seems to have found his true calling, but doing music he dislikes. With the help of Jang and a certain cute trot singer, maybe he'll actually learn the passion of trot.
